Rumours confirm that DNA is finished an EP that consists of 6 songs called “In My DNA” and is ready for release! Rumours also surfaced that DNA is currently working on his Debut Studio Album. Dylan Andrego was born (Dylan Robert Daniel Ogley) in Hamilton Ontario Canada on Tuesday December 26th 2000 at 12:26 am. He was separated from his birth family early and grew up in the system and foster homes until he was adopted out at the age of 5. He got adopted by the Andrego family. As a kid he grew up playing various sports like hockey, baseball, soccer and tennis. Dylan went on to learn the musical skill of playing piano at the age of 6 and that’s where the birth of DNA started. He took piano lessons from the age of 6-10 learning Für Elisè by Beethoven on his own at 12. Dylan performed in 2 piano recitals (age 8, and 9) and 2 school talent shows (grade 5 and grade 7) He had a hard time during elementary school due to being picked on and bullied. Not knowing who to talk to or turn to and only really listening to Eminem at this point, Dylan wrote his first rap song at 13 expressing his thoughts and feelings and it helped him mentally. He dropped out of school at 15 to pursue a career in music. It was also at the time he met his birth family on Facebook and then in person. From 15 to 18 he steady focused on his craft improving it year by year, giving it up and picking it back up but never fully giving up inching closer to his goals. His birth father passed away from an overdose when he was 17 and that made Dylan start to rethink life. He went through 3 name changes “Lil Dyl“ (13-17) “Drego” (17-18) then finally he settled on DNA at 18. He then at 19 signed temporarily to the Capitol Records roster, after his 14 day deal he got offered to sign to the label full time, he signed on to Capitol becoming part of the Capitol Records Family! He released a song called “Accident of an Addict” a song remix of ”Woah” by Lil Baby, a fellow Capitol Records artist. He finished his EP at 20, and soon he will be turning 21. Big things are coming soon for this talented young artist!!
Why a rapper? He wanted to be a “rapper” because his whole life has revolved around music and he loves it. To him he’s an artist not a rapper because He‘s loved the hip hop genre since a kid and writing has been therapeutic for him so he wants to find a way to help and inspire people. He also started rapping because he always heard the way Eminem did it and told his story and got his pain out, and DNA still wants to be like that. His inspirations are Eminem, Tupac, NF, Dax and Hopsin. Why DNA? He chose the name DNA off of his name Dylan Andrego, since 18 he‘s wanted to change his middle name to “Nathan”. The reason he wants to change it is because his birth family chose his first name, his adoptive family changed his last and middle, he feels he should get the choice and change his middle name to “Nathan” creating Dylan Nathan Andrego so that makes DNA. He’s even got it tattooed on his chest!
